Adding or Changing a G/L Adjustment


Creating a G/L Adjustment

  1. Select G/L Adjustment from the G/L / General Journal drop-down menu.
  2. Enter a date in the Date box.
  3. Enter an explanation in the Explanation box.
  4. Enter the account nicknames, each on a separate line, in the G/L Account column.
  5. Enter the debited amounts in the Debit column and enter the credited amounts in the Credit column.
    NOTE: When you adjust the GST/HST Payable (2400) account, select Show Journal Entry on GST/HST Journal to post the adjustment to the GST/HST Journal.
  6. Click OK to save the adjustment.

Modifying a G/L Adjustment

  1. Select General Journal / Correct G/L Adjustment from the G/L pull-down menu to open the Selection Criteria window.
  2. Click OK to open the General Journal Selection window.
  3. Click to highlight the G/L adjustment.
  4. Click Change to open the General Journal Change window.
  5. Enter the date in the Date box.
  6. Enter the explanation in the Explanation box.
  7. Select each account nickname in the G/L Account column.
  8. Enter the debited amounts in the Debit column and enter the credited amounts in the Credit column.
    NOTE: When you adjust the GST/HST Payable (2400) account, select Show Journal Entry on GST/HST Journal to post the adjustment to the GST/HST Journal.
  9. Click OK to save the changes.

Removing a G/L Adjustment

  1. Select General Journal / Correct G/L Adjustment from the G/L pull-down menu to open the Selection Criteria window.
  2. Select the general ledger account nickname for one of the allocations within the adjustment.
  3. Specify a date range containing the adjustment in the Start Date and End Date boxes.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click to highlight the entry.
  6. Click Remove to remove the entry.
  7. Click Yes to confirm the removal of the entry.
  8. Click Close to close the window and return to the PCLaw desktop.
