Creating Custom Explanation Codes for Electronic Billing
Most third party electronic billing companies require you to use custom explanation codes (UTBMS) to code your work for a customer. Contact your third party electronic billing company for more information on what you need to include in your custom explanation code.
Take the following steps to create a custom explanation code:
- Click Options and select Lists, then Explanation Codes to open the Explanation Codes window.
- Click Add to open the Add Explanation Code window.
- Enter the explanation code information provided by your third party electronic billing company.
- Click OK.
NOTE:
You need to repeat steps 2 - 4 for each explanation code you want to create.
