Creating Custom Explanation Codes for Electronic Billing

Most third party electronic billing companies require you to use custom explanation codes (UTBMS) to code your work for a customer. Contact your third party electronic billing company for more information on what you need to include in your custom explanation code.

Take the following steps to create a custom explanation code:

  1. Click Options and select Lists, then Explanation Codes to open the Explanation Codes window.
  2. Click Add to open the Add Explanation Code window.
  3. Enter the explanation code information provided by your third party electronic billing company.
  4. Click OK.

NOTE:

You need to repeat steps 2 - 4 for each explanation code you want to create.
