Setting Up the Synchronization with Microsoft Outlook
Take the following steps to set up the synchronization with Microsoft Outlook:
- Click File on the menu bar and select Synchronize and Outlook to open the Outlook Synchronization window.
- Click Test Outlook Link to confirm that the program can communicate with Outlook properly.
NOTE: The program opens the Test Outlook Link window displaying Outlook version information. - Click OK to close the Test Outlook Link window.
- Select Set up the Outlook Synchronization.
- Click Next to open the Outlook Synchronization Setup window.
- Click Next to open the Configuration File Location window.
- Enter a local location to save the Outlook synchronization configuration file in the Configuration File Path field.
- Click Next to open the Specify Record Types to Synchronize window.
- Click to check the box next to any record types that you want to synchronize.
- Click Options next to Event Records to open the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window if you want to synchronize Event records.
NOTE: If you do not want to synchronize Event records, skip to step 16. - Complete the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window General tab if you want to synchronize Event records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window Date Range tab if you want to synchronize Event records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window Outlook Folders tab if you want to synchronize Event records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window Codes tab if you want to synchronize Event records.
- Click OK to close the Outlook Link Options - Event Records window.
- Click Options next to ToDo Records to open the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window if you want to synchronize ToDo records.
NOTE: If you do not want to synchronize ToDo records, skip to step 22. - Complete the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window General tab if you want to synchronize ToDo records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window Date Range tab if you want to synchronize ToDo records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window Outlook Folders tab if you want to synchronize ToDo records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window Codes tab if you want to synchronize ToDo records.
- Click OK to close the Outlook Link Options - ToDo Records window.
- Click Options next to Contact Records to open the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window if you want to synchronize Contact records.
NOTE: If you do not want to synchronize Contact records, skip to step 28. - Complete the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window General tab if you want to synchronize Contact records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window Outlook Folders tab if you want to synchronize Contact records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window Field Matching tab if you want to synchronize Contact records.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window Codes tab if you want to synchronize Contact records.
- Click OK to close the Outlook Link Options - Contact Records window.
- Click Staff Options to open the Outlook Link Options - Staff Options window.
- Complete the Outlook Link Options - Staff Options window.
- Click OK to close the Outlook Link Options - Staff Options window.
- Click Next to open the Synchronize Deletes window.
- Click to check the Synchronization can delete records in Practice Advantage box if you want to allow the synchronization to delete records in the LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage software.
- Click to check the Synchronization can delete records in Outlook box if you want to allow the synchronization to delete records in Outlook.
- Click Next to open the Confirm Before Making Changes window.
- Complete the Outlook Synchronization Confirm Before Making Changes window.
- Click Next to open the Outlook Sync - Setup Complete window.
- Click OK to close the Outlook Sync - Setup Complete window.
