Inserting Calculated Fields in the Report Designer

Take the following steps to add labels to your custom report:

  1. Open the Report Designer from the Report Specifications window.
  2. Click Insert Calculated Field on the main toolbar.
  3. Click on the report layout to place the field and open the Calculated Field Properties window.
  4. Enter text into the Text field.
  5. Select Left, Center, or Right from the Alignment drop-down list.
  6. Click to check Wrap Text if you want to wrap text inside the field.
  7. Select Number, (Number), Money, (Money), or Do Not Print from the Format drop-down list.
  8. Click Set Font to open the Select Font window.
  9. Select a font from the Font list.
  10. Select a style from the Font Style list.
  11. Select a font size from the Size list.
  12. Click to check Strikeout if you want to place a strike through the font.
  13. Click to check Underline if you want to underline the font.
  14. Select the font color from the Color drop-down list.
  15. Click OK to return to the Calculated Field Properties window.
  16. Click the Formula tab.
  17. Select Text, Number, Date, Time, or Money for the Result Format.
  18. Click Edit Formula to open the Edit Formula window.
  19. Select Field or Text from the Formula Criteria drop-down list.
  20. Select a field from the Field drop-down list if you selected Field from the Formula drop-down list or enter text in the Text field if you selected Text from the Formula drop-down list.
  21. Select an operator from the Operator drop-down list.
  22. Select additional fields and operator to complete the formula.
  23. Click OK to return to the Calculated Field Properties window.
  24. Click the Position tab.
  25. Enter a value into the X Position field.
  26. Enter a value into the Y Position field.
  27. Enter a value into the Height field.
  28. Enter a value into the Width field.
  29. Click OK to return to the Report Designer window.
  30. Click and hold one of the red squares and drag to resize the field.
  31. Add any other fields you want and position them on the report.
  32. Click Save & Close on the main toolbar to return to the Report Specifications window.

NOTE:

The custom report you created remains in the Format tab of the Report Specifications window and is available for use in the future.
