Releasing an IP Address

Take the following steps to release an IP address:

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run window.
  2. Enter cmd in the Open: field and click OK.
  3. Enter ipconfig /release on the command prompt to release the IP address.

Renewing an IP Address

Take the following steps to renew an IP address:

  1. Press the Windows Key + R to open the Run window.
  2. Enter cmd in the Open: field and click OK.
  3. Enter ipconfig /renew on the command prompt to renew the IP address.
