Enabling Secure Socket Layers (SSL)
The internet browser settings and configurations we suggest in this article relate to the optimum performance of the LexisNexis® family of web-based products only. The settings you choose in configuring your browser directly affect all of the internal and external browser-based applications you use. You should always check with your Network Administrator or your PC/IT team before you change any system setting or configuration. If you have questions or concerns about the browser settings, you should use with your LexisNexis® products, please contact our Customer Support team.
The LexisNexis® services only connect with SSL enabled internet browsers. Take the following steps as appropriate for your browser to enable SSL:
NOTE: Not all LexisNexis products support all the browsers referred to on this page.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click Tools on the menu bar and select Internet Options.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the Security section.
- Check the Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 checkboxes.
- Click OK.

- Click the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the Security section.
- Check the Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 checkboxes.
- Click OK.

- Open Netscape Navigator.
- Click Tools on the menu bar and select Options.
- Click Advanced.
- Click the Encryption tab and check Use SSL 3.0.
- Click OK.

- Open Firefox.
- Click Tools on the menu bar and select Options.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Click the Encryption tab and check Use SSL 3.0.
- Click OK.

- Open AOL.
- Click Start and select Settings and Control Panel.
- Double-click Internet Options.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- Scroll down to the Security section.
- Check the Use SSL 2.0 and Use SSL 3.0 checkboxes.
- Click OK.

- Open Firefox.
- Click the Firefox menu and select Preferences.
- Click the Advanced tab and select Encryption.
- Check Use SSL 3.0.
- Click OK.
