Determining Coverage Dates for a Specific Source

You can determine when coverage begins, ends, and how frequently a source is updated on the LexisNexis® research services when you use a search form or the Get a Document (Party Name and Docket Number) forms.


Search Form

Take the following steps to view source descriptions when you use a search form:

  1. Click on the links displayed in the Look for a Source box.
    NOTE: LexisNexis displays most sources in a source hierarchy. Refer to Browse Sources for additional information.
  2. Click the Source Description that appears to the right of your source name to open the Source Information screen in a second browser window.
  3. Close the second browser window to return to the search form.

Get a Document (Party Name and Docket Number) Forms

  1. Click the Get a Document tab.
  2. Click Party Name or Docket Number on the new row under the LexisNexis toolbar.
  3. Click Coverage Dates at the top of the Jurisdiction field to open the LexisNexis Services Coverage Dates screen in a second browser window.
  4. Click one of the following links to display coverage information:
    • Federal Courts
    • State Courts
    • State Codes
    • Secondary Sources
  5. Close the second browser window to return to to your Get a Document form.

NOTE:

Coverage information in the Get a Document form only includes the beginning coverage date for the jurisdiction.
