Features and Items that Appear on the Bank Reconciliation Window

 

Items that the Bank Reconciliation Window Lists

The Bank Reconciliation window lists all items relevant to reconciling your bank account for the month except New Errors. The Bank Reconciliation window lists the following items for you to mark as cleared:

  • Deposit Slips
  • Outstanding Receipts
  • - receipts do not appear individually if they appear on a deposit slip and you check the Use Deposit Slips box on the Bank Reconciliation - Select Account window.
  • Outstanding Checks
  • Prior Items
  • Outstanding Bank Errors (except New Errors)

Balances that Appear at the bottom Bank Reconciliation Window

The following balances appear under the Cleared Items column at the bottom of the Bank Reconciliation window:

  • Cleared Checks - number and total value of checks that you clear
  • Cleared Receipts - number and total value of receipts that you clear
  • Cleared Errors - net value of bank errors that you clear
  • Total - net value of items that you clear

The following balances appear under the Reconciliation Balances column at the bottom of the Bank Reconciliation window:

  • Opening Balance - opening balances as it appears on the Bank Reconciliation - Select Account window
  • Total Cleared Items - net value of items that you clear
  • Calculated Closing Bal. - value of the Opening Balance minus the net value of the Total Cleared Items
  • Difference - difference between the Calculated Closing Bal. and the closing balance that you enter in the Bank Reconciliation - Select Account window

NOTE:

If this is your first bank reconciliation for the account, there is an additional value in the bottom right corner of the Bank Reconciliation window with the description of Bank Journal plus prior entries is different from the opening balance by. The program uses the following formula to calculate this difference:

Bank Statement Opening Balance - Prior Items + Opening Bank Journal Balance
