Common Reports That Do Not Reconcile to the Write Up/Down Journal

The report summaries including the Firm Totals do not include provisional write offs.

The Write Up/Down Journal does not reconcile to the Invoice Journal because the Invoice Journal does not display separate totals for write downs of disbursements or taxes. The Invoice Journal includes the write off values in the matter totals for the Responsible Lawyer, Assigned Lawyer, Introducing Lawyer, and type of law.

The Write Up/Down Journal does not reconcile to the Client WIP, Billing, & Collection Summary because write offs appear on the Client WIP, Billing, & Collection Summary by invoice date instead of by write off date. The Write Up/Down Journal also summarizes write offs by Fee Credit Lawyer and task code, but the Client WIP, Billing, & Collection Summary summarizes write offs by Responsible Lawyer, Assigned Lawyer, Introducing Lawyer, and type of law.

The Write Up/Down Journal does not reconcile to the Lawyer WIP, Billing, & Collection Summary for individual matters or invoices because the Lawyer WIP, Billing, & Collection Summary only summarizes write offs by date.
