Viewing a Remittance Check (Cheque) on the GST/HST Journal

All remittance checks on the GST/HST Journal have the letter Z following the remittance amount. Remittance checks appear on the report for the remitting period, not the check date. The remittance check appears on the report when the remittance period ends between the report Start Date and End Date even when the remittance check date is after the report End Date.

For the following examples, assume the remittance check date is April 15 and the remittance period ends March 31:

  • The remittance check appears on the GST/HST Journal when you run the report with a Start Date of January 1 and an End Date of March 31.
  • The remittance check does not appear on the GST/HST Journal when you run the report with a Start Date of April 1 and an End Date of April 15.
