Converting the PCLaw C-Tree Database to an SQL Database

Take the following steps to convert the PCLaw C-Tree database to an SQL database:

NOTE: Contact Customer Support prior to conversion to ensure your database is ready to be converted.

  1. Use mixed mode authentication to install the Microsoft SQL server software.
  2. Make a Backup before starting the conversion utility
  3. Click Start on the Windows Taskbar to open the Start Menu.
  4. Select Run to open the Run window.
  5. Enter C:\Program Files\LexisNexis\PCLaw in the Open field.
  6. Double-click PLSCNV32.EXE to open the conversion utility.
    Note: Only run the conversion utility on the SQL server.
  7. Enter the SQL Server/Instance Name and SA Password.
  8. Click Yes to re-index the PCLaw database before you start the conversion.
  9. Open PCLaw.
  10. Click Help and select About PCLaw(Pro) to open the About PCLaw(Pro) window.
  11. Click License to open the License Information window.
  12. Verify that the Database Type is set to SQL.
