Backing Up LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage Professional Edition Outside of the Main Program

NOTE:

This article only applies to LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage™ Professional Edition. Create a backup with Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express for Time Matters Enterprise Edition.

 

Take the following steps to back up the LexisNexis Total Practice Advantage database outside of the main program:

  1. Verify that all users log out of the program.
  2. Press Windows Logo Key + R to open the Run window.
  3. Enter the path [X]:\LNTPA9\TMUTIL.EXE in the Open field.
  4. Click OK to open the Time Matters Professional Utility Program window.
  5. Click OK to open the Select Database Location window.
  6. Verify the location of the database in the Current Main Database Location field.
  7. Click OK to open the Time Matters for Windows - Utility Program window.
  8. Click Utilities on the menu bar and select Backup to open the Time Matters Backup - Use Often! window.
  9. Enter the destination for the backup file in the Specify Name & Full Path Destination for Backup File field.
  10. Click OK to open the Begin Backup Now? window.
  11. Click Yes to begin the backup.
  12. Click OK when the Time Matters Backup window opens.
  13. Click Exit to close the Time Matters for Windows - Utility Program window.
