Printing to File Using Advanced Report Save
You can print Records, Record Lists, and Reports to a PDF, RTF, XLS, or HTML file. You can secure your file with a password and restrict others from printing, copying, or changing it. You can secure all file types except RTF.
Printing PDF, XLS, or HTML using Advanced Save
Take the following steps to print to PDF, XLS, or HTML using Advanced Report Save:
- Open a Record list, Record, or Report.
- Click Print to open the Report Specifications window.
- Select the Report on the Report tab.
- Select the Format in the Format tab.
- Select other options, filters, and additional selections from the Options, Filters, and Additional tabs.
- Click Preview to open the Report Preview window.
- Click Save to open the Advanced Report Save window.
- Select PDF, XLS, or HTML for the Document Format.
NOTE: You can use a PDF document template if you select PDF. Click to check the Use Template box and select the template from the drop-down list. Choosing a template allows you to use preset security settings. - Enter a file path and file name in the Document Name and Location fields.
NOTE: You can use the ampersand to use AutoName instead of typing out the file path. - Click Next.
- Select the settings for the password and permissions.
NOTE: If you choose to use a PDF template, select your Page Range and click Save. - Click Next.
- Select the settings for compression, resolution, and font.
- Click Next.
- Select the Page Range.
- Click Save.
- Click OK.

Printing RTF using Advanced Save
- Open a Record list, Record, or Report.
- Click Print to open the Report Specifications window.
- Select the Report on the Report tab.
- Select the Format on the Format tab.
- Select other options, filters, and additional selections from the Options, Filters, and Additional tabs.
- Click Preview to open the Report Preview window.
- Click Save to open the Advanced Report Save window.
- Select RTF for the Document Format.
NOTE: Click to check Basic RTF if you want to exclude graphics and lines. - Enter a file path and file name in the Document Name and Location fields.
NOTE: You can use the ampersand to use AutoName instead of typing out the file path. - Click Next.
- Select the Page Range.
- Click Save.
- Click OK.
