Adding or Creating Quick Tabs without Using the Quick Tab Wizard

You can still create Quick Tabs if the wizard is disabled. If the wizard opens, but you do not want to use it, you can disable it from any of the wizard windows.

Take the following steps to add a Quick Tab without using the Quick Tab wizard:

  1. Open a record list.
    NOTE: If you do not know how to open a record list, contact Customer Support.
  2. Click Options on the toolbar to open the User List Options window.
  3. Click the Quick Tabs/Quick Menu tab.
  4. Click Add to open the Edit User Level Quick Tab window.
    NOTE: With the wizard enabled, clicking Add opens the New User Level [Record Type] Quick Tab - Introduction window. To disable the wizard from this window, click to check the Do not use this wizard again box, and click Cancel to open the Quick Tab Wizard window. Click No to disable the wizard and close the Quick Tab Wizard window. Click Add again to open the Edit User Level Quick Tab window.
  5. Enter a name for the Quick Tab in the Name field on the General tab.
  6. Select the General Options you want.
  7. Click the Fields tab.
  8. Click to highlight a field that you want to add to the Quick Tab on the Available Fields list.
  9. Click Add to move it to the In List list.
    NOTE: Repeat this step to add more fields to the Quick Tab.
  10. Click to highlight a field that you want to remove from the Quick Tab on the In List.
  11. Click Remove to move it to the Available Fields list.
  12. Click to highlight a field on the In List list.
  13. Click Up or Down to change the order of data fields on the Quick Tab.
  14. Select a Form Style from the Field Label Options drop-down list if you want to use field labels from a Form Style other than the Default.
  15. Click the Filter and Sort tab.
  16. Select the Filter Options you want.
  17. Select the data field that you want to use for the sort from the Record Sort drop-down list.
  18. Select one of the following Sort Order options:
    • Sort Ascending
    • Sort Descending
  19. Click OK to save the new Quick Tab and close the Edit User Level Quick Tab window.
  20. Click OK to close the User List Options window.
