1099 Reports - End of Year


End of Year Procedures

You can use the 1099 Report to see how much you paid to a vendor during the past year and to create a 1099 form.

Take the following steps to verify that the Vendor appears on the 1099 Form:

  • Check the 1099 box on the Vendor Form.
  • Verify that you paid the vendor at least 600 dollars in the current year by clicking the History tab in the Vendor Form.
  • Verify that you paid the Vend by creating a payable.

  • NOTE:If you created a check but not a payable, the payment does not appear in the 1099 Report.

Printing a 1099 Report

Take the following steps to print a 1099 Report:

  1. Click Reports on the menu bar and select Standard Reports to open the Standard Reports window.
  2. Click the Vendor tab.
  3. Click to highlight the 1099 Report.
  4. Click the Filter sub-tab.
  5. Select the filters that you want:
    • Date Range - Selects predefined date range or custom.
    • From - Selects a specific date range when used with the custom date range.
    • Class Code - The classification code.
    • Account - The account for the 1099 report to run against.
    • Vendor - The vendor for the 1099 report to run against.
    • 1099 Box - Which 1099 box to check.
  6. Click the Options sub-tab.
  7. Click Classify Accounts to open the 1099 Account Setup window.
  8. Click to tag the General Ledger Account(s) requiring 1099 reporting and click OK.
  9. Click Preview to view the report or click Print to print the report.
    NOTE: If the totals on the form are incorrect, make sure that the Vendor information is set up and make sure that the Vendor was paid.

Printing 1099 Forms

Take the following steps to print 1099 Forms:

  1. Click Reports on the menu bar and select Standard Reports to open the Standard Reports window.
  2. Click the Vendor tab.
  3. Click the Format sub-tab.
  4. Click to highlight the 1099 Report.
  5. Click the Filter sub-tab.
  6. Select the filters that you want:
    • Date Range - Selects predefined date range or custom.
    • From - Selects a specific date range when used with the custom date range.
    • Class Code - The classification code
    • Account - The account for the 1099 report to run against.
    • Vendor - The vendor for the 1099 report to run against.
    • 1099 Box - Which 1099 box to check.
  7. Click the Options sub-tab.
  8. Click Classify Accounts to open the 1099 Account Setup window.
  9. Click to tag the General Ledger Account(s) requiring 1099 reporting and click OK.
  10. Load the 1099 Forms into the printer.
  11. Click Print.
